About Us

We are a small animal hospital located on the north western side of Winston-Salem just behind the Pfafftown Post Office. Our mission at Pfafftown Animal Hospital is to provide innovative veterinary medicine, while preserving a warm intimate environment for both you and your pet. The PAH family consists of a skilled and compassionate staff that strives to provide progressive and high quality veterinary care through the educational enhancement of our clients and our team. Our hope is that you and your pet feel as though you are visiting a family friend rather than stepping into a cold, sterile hospital. We truly value the trust placed in us as you choose to share your pets with our team. It is our commitment to you to be your pet’s health care advocate and treat them as if they were our own. If we can help or be of service to you, please feel free to give us a call! Or better yet stop in, introduce yourself, and take a tour of our facility.

In order to minimize wait time and to alleviate confusion,
here are a few guidelines to follow when scheduling  an appointment:

*Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Saturday, and surgery appointments Monday through Friday.

*If you need to cancel your scheduled time for any reason,  please contact the office so that we can offer the time to someone else.  Please try to give at least 24 hours notice.

*If your pet is scheduled for a tech appointment (bordetella, Fecal, nail trim, bath)  they will not be seeing a doctor.  If you would like to see a doctor, please let us know.

*If your pet is scheduled for a drop-off appointment expect them to stay the day.  Our normal drop-off time is between 8-9am.  Pick up times vary from patient to patient but are usually between 3 - 5pm.
Authorization forms must be sign by the owner for pets scheduled for a drop-off or surgery appointment.  Pets may be required to be current on vaccines. If an individual other than the owner is bringing the pet, they MUST be at least 18 years of age and have the owners permission to authorize any suggested procedures and/or treatments.

*Our normal drop off time for surgeries is between 8-9 am.  There will be authorization forms that will need to be filled out; so please allow 10-15 minutes for paperwork. Please remember, If your pet is scheduled to have a surgical procedure DO NOT feed them after Midnight the night before.

*Patients that are scheduled for a "Recheck" may be charged for a follow up exam. There is no charge for suture removal.
