Dr. Ann Marie Livengood grew up in Ararat, North Carolina and moved to Mount Airy when she was 11 years old. She spent her early teens at Mt. Airy High School before her acceptance into the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, where she spent her junior and senior year. After graduation, she did her undergraduate work in Zoology at NC State University and then entered into the Veterinary School at NC State University.
She spent a year in Fayetteville before joining Cobb Animal Clinic in Greensboro, NC as an associate veterinarian for 11 years. For the two years prior to the initiation of Pfafftown Animal Hospital, she worked supporting veterinary hospitals in the triad area as a relief veterinarian.
Dr. Livengood is dedicated to providing services that far exceed basic pet care while providing a warm and compassionate environment for the client. Even while running a growing practice, Dr. Livengood still finds time to play an active role in the community as well as her church.
Starting a new practice would never have been possible without the love and support of her family. Raising three children and a husband is no easy job : ) Team Livengood just wouldn't be complete without their two rescue dogs Max and Uno. Dr. Livengood and Max are quite the team! Not only does max have his canine Good Citizenship Award but last spring he was awarded his Companion Dog AKC title.
In her limited time off, Dr. Livengood enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and no matter when it is she is always up for a glass of sweet tea!
